Wang Zhihua and Chen Yuxi give lectures on Chinese law at Moscow State Institute of International Relations

Prof. Wang Zhihua from the Institute of Comparative Law, and student Chen Yuxi, a year 2023 entering doctoral candidate, were invited to teach Chinese law to directors of legal affairs, legal consultants, lawyers and scholars of several Russian mega enterprises at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in Russia from 30 September to 11 October, 2024.



The module, conducted in Russian, aimed to deepen the understanding and application of the Chinese legal system by Russian enterprises. Wang Zhihua's lectures included three topics, the China's legal system and its characteristics, the China's legal tradition and special topics of China's civil law. It provided a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the basic structure and cultural background of China's current legal system and its characteristics. Chen Yuxi focused on the Chinese constitution and administrative law, the legal system of Hong Kong and Macao regions, the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in China and the China's labor law, providing participants with practical information and compliance advice related to Chinese law. This event not only strengthened the relationship between Chinese and Russian legal circles, but also highlighted the important influence of CUPL in the field of Russian-related law.


In addition, Wang gave a public lecture on the Current Chinese Legal System and Its Characteristics to the students of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the Moscow State Law University (МГЮА) respectively, which was well received by the students. Russian students' interest in the study of Chinese law and Chinese legal culture was greatly promoted, which played a positive role in the external dissemination of Chinese law and Chinese legal culture.


Founded in 1944, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations is renowned for its excellence in international relations, law and political science, and for its high reputation in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Moscow State Law University, founded in 1931, is one of the most famous law schools in Russia.
